The film had to have been released before 2009 as I remember seeing it with my girlfriend at the time. If my memory is correct, we saw it in US theaters around 2007/2008.
obviously not exactly a new movie, and idk if i would wholeheartedly recommend watching it, but if you’re okay with seeing the implied killing of a horse and explicit death of a person, i think you should, before you read the rest
Wife really doesn’t like science fiction, made her watch it anyway. “Trust me, it’s great!” She was engrossed! The plot and acting really has the viewer questioning what’s going on. We all know what happened, but it would be interesting to experience it again for the first time.
With Hollywood favouring franchise fare, horror films have become the last bastion of inventive film-making, producing a new generation of auteurs in the process
What the fuck was this mess…? I am completely at a loss on what to say. I can’t stand bitching about RT scores , how the fuck does this have 88%? How the hell did basically 9 out of ten reviewers say it was fresh?
“If a movie is made independently and only sells to a streamer, then fine. But I don’t want to make something where [streaming is] the end-all,” Olsen said.
Man I really wanted to enjoy this movie and just struggled with it from the start. Nothing works in this thing, the “Marty McFly” esque narration is just grating. I am not sure if is the break neck speed of the story or just how obvious and trite the social commentary is, all the jokes don’t land. Subtly has never been Bong Joon Ho‘s strength but man this thing just made my eyes roll and man it was tough being stuck with the biggest looser in the known universe..
I loved it. After all the boring Marvel stuff I thought I was totally done with superhero movies. The way it began was so odd it grabbed my interest straight away and Superman had more personality than in all the movies he’d ever done while still being a goodie-two-shoes nerd.
