So you upgraded to an ad-free plan and they still show this?

Paramount does this shit too.

If you have Ad Free Paramount+ you get 30s intro ads where you have to hit the >> or OK button to make it go away.

The “previews” are standard fare across most streaming apps and it drives me absolutely crazy.

Jesus, stop it, I can only get that happy that I am streaming owned movies in high Bitrate from my nas without breaks or stuff like that.

then you start your ad-free viewing by selecting a show... and they show you an ad for a different show. this aggravated me more than the ads on the page shown there.

This is the same as all the games that advertise themselves as having no ads but they do have ads for in app purchases.

For some reason they don’t consider those as being ads.

Amazon: "Oh, we didn't mean those ads. That's clearly stated on page 112 of the user agreement under "Enshittification."

While I don't personally engage in piracy, I can definitely see why people go that route. Streaming services suck so much. All these companies had to do was make it more convenient to not pirate.

I left when they started charging more so they wouldn't ruin your service with ads... which they did anyway

I’m sorry but if i pay for a service that’s ad free and they put ads in the media i’m watching then i will instantly cancel that service. Anyone who doesn’t is just enabling that behavior.

I've graduated to not considering any service they has an advertising tier. It's like being in the court watching Gríma Wormtongue whisper into the ear of King Théoden of Rohan. No amount of concessions is good enough, they'll always ask for more.

Happened to me with HBO Nordic. I mean HBO Max. No. Max. It was an episode of Rick and Morty, and the ad was on the video itself. It was like it was downloaded from somewhere. Cancelled in an instant.

Sounds like you're ready to stop buying anything from Amazon. One of us. One of us..

Options are "close" and "close and give us even more data"

Interesting

don't forget "close and give misleading data"

I'm on their ad-free plan myself. but the free one, that you don't pay anything for.

same! I like that buffering is never an issue. and I don't even have to deal with their shitty UI!

and they don't even mind you sharing your password with family either

Bezos has enough money. Don’t give him anymore of yours

the only thing that I think that you can do about it is cancel and not use the service.

I remember a time when Hulu was free and without ads. Then it was not free with ads. First was never gonna last, but the route they took to get where they are NOW was absolutely stupid as fuck.

isn't Hulu shutting down

Oh so it is. I hadnt heard this news until just now looking up what you're talking about.

points at Hulu Ha ha!

I am so angry about this. I generally like Hulu, I hate Disney+.

I'd have liked Hulu a lot more if it weren't geo-restricted to the US.

God damn it. I knew Disney getting into the streaming biz was going to suck balls. I was already pissed off when they pulled their content to form their own service.

Well, guess I'll be watching more anime. Only got Crunchyroll left. And I'm not sure how long that's gonna last either. They are making stupid choices as well.

It isn't shutting down, it is just being folded into Disney+. You can still get a standalone Hulu subscription but as of sometimenext year will only be accessible through the the Disney+ app.

So back to cable packages. Fucking dumb

I'm pretty sure it was never free and without ads. There were much fewer and even sometimes would have really quick "thanks for watching now get back to the show" ads but ad free has always been paid

It was only ad free for like a year, if that. I originally thought it was a piracy site when I first found it.

Pretty confident you're wearing rose tinted glasses. They had very few ads in the beginning. you could get through multiple episodes without getting them but they definitely existed. Maybe you had an ad blocker? I literally can't find any evidence it was ever both and I was using it within the first few months of it's public release

The parasite understands only one language...

Deny it profit and engagement.

If you are using these normie services, you are the problem.

They treat you like cattle, do something

You better sail the high seas and watch your shows Amazon-free.

There's definitely something in their terms of service that says the ad-free doesn't apply to their products.

have you unsubscribed?

ReVanced, SmartTubeNext, a Fen Lite build of Kodi, and Real-Debrid. You'll never sit through any adverts ever again.

Ad-blockers are a must

The only time I see ads are when I'm streaming something live. And that's because they have actual commercial breaks

Last week I canceled HBO. They increased prices and if I did not want that, I'd have to watch ads. I'm not watching ads. And they did not provide enough value to increase the price. Vote with your wallet. I certainly do.

That would be an instant unsubscribe from me. Otherwise you're just giving them permission to keep doing this.

Prime streaming is shit. The only reason I have prime video is because I use the free delivery. I never watch it
